Silicon Valley Shotokan Karate (formerly JKA of Silicon Valley) has been offering instruction in authentic, traditional Shotokan karate as practiced in Japan as Budo, rather than simply sport since 1998 (but it’s primary instructors actually have been teaching elsewhere since the 1980s). Shotokan is the most widely practiced style of karate and one of the most widely practiced martial arts worldwide.
