Afternoon Ecology PUBLISHED |
This "afterschool" educational program is designed to foster the natural curiosity of young minds. Students learn about local habitats around the San Francisco Bay while working in a team with their peers. Over the course of each 1-week session, students will use real scientific equipment to catch animals and collect data in a fun and exciting way. The Marine Science Institute offers three sessions each with a unique theme. These sessions may be taken independently, or as part of a 3-week educational series.

Marine Science Academy PUBLISHED |
This 10-week:once-a-week program explores Pacific Coast and San Francisco Bay marine habitats and includes three trips aboard our research vessel in South San Francisco Bay. Academy participants will have an in depth investigation of local marine ecosystems and learn how similar animals from different habitats have unique adaptations to help them survive. Over the course of this extensive and immersive program, students focus on the San Francisco Bay habitats, local wetlands, the Pacific Coast and oceanic habitats, explore taxonomy, and form and function.
