This program is an opportunity to introduce preschoolers to farm life and animals at Emma Prusch Farm Park. Activities will include caring
for our farm animals, songs, stories, crafts, garden fun, and games to develop socialization skills, eye-hand coordination, and motor skills.
Your child will also learn alphabet sounds, shapes, and colors in a safe and fun farm atmosphere! Children must be able to use the restroom
unassisted. Children also must be able to wear a face mask for the duration of each class. All children must have valid immunization records
on file before the start of class. Requirements for parent participation will vary by center.

This "afterschool" educational program is designed to foster the natural curiosity of young minds. Students learn about local habitats around the San Francisco Bay while working in a team with their peers. Over the course of each 1-week session, students will use real scientific equipment to catch animals and collect data in a fun and exciting way. The Marine Science Institute offers three sessions each with a unique theme. These sessions may be taken independently, or as part of a 3-week educational series.

This 10-week:once-a-week program explores Pacific Coast and San Francisco Bay marine habitats and includes three trips aboard our research vessel in South San Francisco Bay. Academy participants will have an in depth investigation of local marine ecosystems and learn how similar animals from different habitats have unique adaptations to help them survive.

Over the course of this extensive and immersive program, students focus on the San Francisco Bay habitats, local wetlands, the Pacific Coast and oceanic habitats, explore taxonomy, and form and function.​

Who: Grades 2-5th (Ages 7-11) 

When: Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays 
starting Sep. 14 to Nov. 16

In this week-long program, students will spend 3 hours per day learning about Marine Science.  
This program is designed for learning pod groups and is brought to the home/site of that group. Students will observe live animals found in San Francisco Bay and Northern California Coastal habitats each day. Students will learn marine science concepts through hands on activities that further their understanding of the Scientific Method. Each day students will focus on a different topic including Rocky Shore Habitat, Kelp Forest habitat, Sandy Beach Habitat, Marsh Habitat, and Estuarine (Bay) habitat.This program requires a large outdoor space that is directly accessible to the street, an hour set-up time, a half hour clean-up time, and access to a bathroom(sanitation requirements).

School of Rock Performance-Based Music Programs Rock Socializing— With Social Distancing

Kids have been inspired in the School of Rock community for the last 8 and half years, learning music by playing music– together. Through programs designed for all skill levels, students go from lessons and rehearsal to performance– developing confidence, talent and teamwork skills along the way. Students, ages 7 to 18 engage in a private, one-on-one lesson. Those weekly lessons come with a bonus: the chance to be a rock star. Once enrolled, students become part of a band as well, and play in a socially distanced rehearsal each week. Bands are determined by skill level and age. They practice together for a season (about 4 months) and then play a show. This unique approach allows students to use what they learn from their teacher in the real-world setting of a band, comprised of their peers. They learn to rock on stage and in life.

School of Rock community members also have access to our one-of-a-kind, fully integrated Method app. The App provides an enhanced learning experience and reinforced practice schedule. Parents and students know what should be worked on and progress can be tracked.

Rookies

Ages 5-7. Fun musical activities and hands-on experience with guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and singing, so they can discover which instrument interests them most.

Rock 101

Ages 7-12. Your budding rock star applies music fundamentals learned in their private lessons to playing in a band. Rock 101 is a fun, low stress environment where basics are mastered while playing songs with other kids.

Junior Performance

Ages 9-12.  Upon completing Rock 101, your young rocker learns harmonies, musicianship and much more about performing as a band.

Performance

Ages 12-18. For beginner to advanced players. With several show themes each season, your team will excel from one level to the next– all while playing music they love.

Rock 101, Junior Performance and Performance Programs include a weekly private lesson and weekly band rehearsals.

We provide the safe, distanced, quiet space in our roomy Kitchen studio for them to do their distance learning and at the end we whip up a delicious snack together from scratch. You may register in advance OR drop off your healthy child with their mask and everything they need to do their work and we take it from there. Each session is 3 hours, designed to fit into the Palo Alto school distance learning block schedule. Two sessions run every Monday (except school holidays when we run camp) and one each Thursday morning. Get some work or errands out of the way, we've got you covered!
