CHCP/ Chinese Historical and Cultural Project of Santa Clara County, Inc

The Chinese Historical and Cultural Project created and gifted the Chinese American Historical Museum in 1991 to the public. On display is the 1887 Ng Shing Gung altar and artifacts from San Jose's five former Chinatowns.

CHCP promotes, educate, and preserves Chinese and Chinese American history and culture through community outreach and the museum. We share our stories, our history, and our culture with the people of Silicon Valley and beyond.

The museum is open to the public every Saturday (with limited exception). In summer we are also open Wednesdays. Check our website for a schedule and seasonal celebrations, public presentations and cultural activities, including Lunar New Year, AAPI Heritage Month and Spirit of '45.
