Ages for which our activities are most appropriate:
Campers study Shakespeare’s theatre in a fun and supportive atmosphere. Professional theatre practitioners lead interactive classes in Shakespeare’s poetry, clowning traditions, and stage combat. Whether this is your first time at a theatre summer camp or you’re returning for another awesome summer with us, Shakespeare Camp has something for everyone. Learn about acting, movement, production design, and Shakespeare. On the final day of camp all perform in an abridge Shakespeare play for family and friends!

For over 30 years San Francisco Shakespeare Festival has been providing Shakespeare Camps for children of all experience levels,
ages 7 to 18.

Two-week Camp sessions, meet weekdays 9:00am-3:00pm, with precare (8:30-9am) and aftercare (3:00-5:30pm) included!
Our teaching artists are working actors, stage managers, directors, and designers. In each session campers engage with each other in activities ranging from theater games and basic acting skills to more specialized training and deeper exploration of the themes and language of Shakespeare, culminating in a live performance attended by family and friends. Scripts, costumes, and supplies for the performance are all included with registration.

We offer 3 levels of camps: Groundlings (ages 7-10), Players (ages 11-13), and Advanced Shakespeare Workshop (ages 11-18).

For summer of 2023 the following 2-week sessions (ages 7-13) are scheduled:
