The Niles Canyon Railway is thrilled to be back for 2024 with a new set of train rides on the second and third weekends of March and continuing the same schedule each month through October.
Come take a relaxing 1.5 hour round trip train ride through scenic Niles Canyon starting from our Sunol, CA station then traveling to Niles/Fremont and back by a train of both open and enclosed railroad cars on part of the route of the original Transcontinental Railroad. Restrooms and a snack bar are available on the train and a gift shop is available in our Sunol depot where you will depart from. No one will be able to get on or off at Niles.
Two departures each day at 10:30AM and 1:00PM. Each operating day will feature either a historic diesel locomotive pulling the train or a historic steam locomotive having the honors of leading the train through the canyon.
Please visit our website (ncry.org) to learn what is planned to power our trains on any given operating day along with additional ride information and links to purchase your tickets online. We hope you will come enjoy this scenic train ride right here in the Bay Area!
